Optimization of Productivity and Worker Well-Being by Using a Multi-Objective Optimization Framework

OCCUPATIONAL APPLICATIONSWorker well-being and overall system performance are important elements in the design of production lines. However, studies industry practice show that current tools unable to consider concurrently both productivity aspects (e.g., line balancing cycle time) worker related risk musculoskeletal disorders). Current also fails account for anthropometric diversity workforce does not use potential multi-objective simulation-based optimization techniques. Accordingly, a framework consisting workflow digital tool was designed assist proactive workstations accommodate productivity. This uses state-of-the-art techniques make it easier quicker designers find successful workplace solutions. A case study demonstrate is provided.
